Obtaining an ARM or CPCU

The American Institute for CPCU/Insurance Institute of America sponsors an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) program and Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) program. 

In addition, the Pittsburgh CPCU Society is also offering courses in 2005 to earn the CPCU designation.

New on-line courses are also available to assist in studying for the ARM.  

Please note that the Chapter does not endorse any vendors providing these services.

Obtaining a CRM

The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research sponsors the Certified Risk Manager ("CRM") designation. To earn the CRM, you must complete 5 courses. Each course is 2-½ days of instruction, followed by an optional exam.

Chapter's Role in Education

The Pittsburgh Chapter of RIMS is proud of its continuing relationship with local universities.  The Chapter has established a scholarship fund for students at Gannon University and provides mentoring services to students at Robert Morris University and West Virginia University.  For more information on these activities contact Sandy Chapman.
